Hi, I’m Dani!
My teaching career officially began in my basement at three years old. I lined up my dolls to participate in a round-robin reading of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom followed by the most important time of day – snack time. As I grew into my role as a professional, my absolute favorite ‘I need to be a teacher’ moments surfaced while working as a day camp counselor, after school program coordinator, and eventually, teaching assistant turned teacher.
For as long as I can remember, I have been passionate about positively impacting the lives of young people. Now a 10+ year high school Special Education Social Studies teacher, I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to share my successes (and failures, of course) with teachers around the world through this blog as well as my social platforms.
Outside of teaching, I am a mom of two whackadoo kids (3 and 5), I enjoy working out, traveling (my husband and I honeymooned in the very magical country of Bali), reading, and live music. I am a huge fan of playing card or board games and my favorite nights are ones spent by a crackling bonfire, ideally with a s’more in each hand.

My Mission
In my early years of teaching, when I lived at home, my dad’s farewell each morning was, “have a great day and change someone’s life today!” Fast forward a zillion years and my goal is to positively impact as many students as possible beyond the walls of my classroom. That’s why I started the StuckOnEDU store – to help you connect with your students in ways that are meaningful, fun, and engaging!
My classroom management and teaching persona completely transformed when I began to focus on the social-emotional health of my students, and my wish is to guide you to feel that same success and happiness with your students in your classroom.
Fun Facts about Dani
- I love college basketball and the HOO HOO HOOSIERS - I graduated from Indiana University!
- 🤓 I am a bookworm and especially adore young adult literature and graphic novels. My perfect day includes getting lost in a multilevel bookstore.
- I absolutely love live music. My favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Jack's Mannequin, Matt Nathanson, and Dave Matthews Band, who I've seen almost 30 times!
- Many moons ago, I had a YouTube makeup channel. Now I stick to the behind the camera action and enjoy watching makeup, skin, and haircare tutorials.
